IMO, however, Carl Fredricksen absolutely required either a Muppets-like head mold OR a bulbous nose on a Minifigure head, like we’ve seen on Pinocchio. It would be nice if it were bigger, but it's also nice that it's more affordable, and they did pack a lof of details in there. Surely constructing a basic brick-built version of the large flightless bird wouldn’t have been that tricky or bumped the set’s price up too much. Considering what you get for your money, that’s a very fair price. Three sloped roof sections complete the look of the Fredricksens’ home, although despite being hinged, they don’t open. This feels like a bit of a missed opportunity for ‘Up’ House, as the lack of access to the interior first floor can be a little tricky, often requiring said roof sections to be removed in their entirety and then reattached. In fact space is used wisely in ‘Up’ House, as each room is packed with details and bursting with nods to the original film.

I can understand LEGO not wanting to devote moulding resources into a large bird that will solely be used for this set, but I really would’ve liked to have seen a brick-built version at the very least at the set does feel quite incomplete without Kevin. It is quite a small-ish build, and narrow, but I think the size does work well for this being a compact display model. Perfect if you don’t have tons of display surface area, or want a cool desk LEGO build to remind you of your favourite Pixar movie.
